The 2007 Junior World Wrestling Championships raised its curtain today in Beijing as Chinese wrestlers Nie Xiaoming and Xin Xiaowei survived the Greco-Roman 96kg and 74kg revival bouts respectively while their compatriot Xiao Bo failed to reach the next round in the 60kg event.

Nie Xiaoming, who walked over in the first round of revival, outscored his American rival 2-1 (0-3, 5-1, 1-1) to face a wrestler from Kazakhstan in the bronze-medal match.

Explaining why he could rally to win, Nie said: "I didn't rest at noon so I was not clear-headed in the first period. But I didn't give the opponent any chance in the second and third."

Xin Xiaowei, beating his rivals of Romania and the United States in the revivals, will fight a Latvian wrestler for the bronze of the 74kg category.
