Li Songni In the third day of the 2007 Junior World Wrestling Championships, Chinese wrestler Li Songni won the first gold medal for China in the women's freestyle 59kg. After the event, Li Songni said calmly that her self-confidence helped her a lot in winning the final. In the women's freestyle 59kg final against Padilla of the United States, Li Songni didn't give Padilla any chance and took the bout with 2-0 amidst the cheering of the audience. After the match Li Songni said, "Except that I didn't applied my tactics quite right for some time I had advantages in all the aspects, that's why I gained the upper hand." The 19-year-old girl seemed quite confident of herself. "I just want to enjoy the matches one by one, the results wouldn't mean much to me. I think our team has the power to achieve gold medals in these events." |
