In today's 50kg competition, the Mongolian wrestler took the crown beyond all expectations. Subsequently, another Mongolian wrestler won a bronze medal of the 60kg event, showing Mongolia's rapid progress and advantage in low-level competition in recent years.

In the 60kg and 74kg competition, the Iranian and Russian wrestlers were distinctly stronger than the others, the former defended champion in the 60kg competition and the latter outlaid his opponent in the 74kg final.

As the team champion of the men's freestyle event, Russia did not present eye-catching performance in the first-day competition, but were qualified for two finals, showing their great overall strength. Russia, Iran, Ukraine, the top three placers of the team event of the Junior World Championship last year, were well matched in the first day to make the team champion this year a real suspense to left unveiled in the end.

The host China was trailing far behind the world strong teams in the men's freestyle wrestling, none but a wrestler crushing into the bronze competition performed well today.
