The "Good Luck Beijing" Junior World Wrestling Championships were drawing to an end on August 26. In the men's freestyle 84kg final, Uzbekistan's Abdul Ammaev managed to outdo his Russian opponent Anzor Urishev to clinch the gold, which was the only medal Uzbekistan had won at the ongoing Junior World Championships.

During the 84kg final, the Uzbekistani wrestler fought aggressively from the very beginning and won the first period. In the second, the two wrestlers got into a seesaw, but Abdul Ammaev seized the chance at the last moment to win the gold for Uzbekistan.

The bronze-medal match was between Salas of Cuba and Matsumoto of Japan. The Cuban wrestler, gold medalist of the Pan-American Junior Wrestling Championships, dominated the first period and won by a wide margin of 6-1. In the second, it seemed the more he fought, the stronger he grew. Soon he got the bronze and beat his opponent to the fourth place.

The other bronze medal went to Chelidze of Georgia.
